“Brown Bag” Food Program -
Program offers a free bag of groceries once a month, each bag holding a variety of basic, healthy foods: soup to cereal, meat to veggies, maybe even a treat. To see if you qualify, call Marion at the Senior Center 508-694-2004.

Food Stamps (SNAP) -
Project Bread’s Hotline offers free confidential screenings for Food Stamp eligibility, as well as assistance in completing the application. Call 800-645-8333 and press “2” for dedicated Senior Line. Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-7pm, Sat 10am-2pm.

“Lock Box” Program -
The lock box holds a key to the resident’s entrance and can only be used by Fire Dept. Personnel for medical emergencies. The lock box now costs only $40 and is installed by members of the Dennis Fire Dept. For more info, call Emily at the Dennis Fire Dept, 508-398-0363.

2-1-1 is the national abbreviated dialing code for free access to health and human services information and referral. 2-1-1 is a free, universally recognizable number that makes a critical connection between individuals and families seeking services or volunteer opportunities and the appropriate community-based organizations and government agencies.
SHINE (Serving the Health Insurance Needs of Everyone) provides free health care assistance and counseling to all Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers. Appts available at the Senior Center on the 2nd & 4th Tues. Call for appt., 508-385-5067.

Have an issue or concern? State Rep. Whelan is available the third Friday of the month from 9-10am at the Senior Center to meet with constituents and offer assistance. If you’d like an appt, call Rebecca Hamlin at 774-212-7291, or just stop in.
