The Dennis Council on Aging's primary mission is to enhance the quality of life for our senior citizens of the Town by providing multi-purpose programs especially designed to fulfill the health, educational, social, recreational, outreach and transportation needs of our most valued citizens in a safe, friendly and comfortable environment.
Volunteers play an important part of helping us meet our mission statement.
If you would like to join or team of volunteers, we have the following opportunities:
Front Desk / Office Assistants - Involves receptionist and clerical duties, providing information to the public, assisting with scheduling appointments and other clerical duties. Requires a four hour shift in the morning (8:30am to 12:30pm or afternoon (12:30pm to 4:30pm).
Medical Drivers - Medical drivers provide an invaluable service that many seniors in our community rely on! Our drivers provide transportation to and from medical appointments on the Cape for ambulatory seniors, and can be reimbursed at the current IRS reimbursement rate. All drives must have a current driver’s license.

The program includes morning snacks, sing-a-longs, art therapy, exercise, lunch, arts and crafts, cognitive stimulation, board games and other activities. Volunteers may lead, or help our participants engage in activities, serve lunch or work one-on-one with our seniors.
Friendly Visitors - A friendly visitor spends one to two hours a week with a senior who is lonely or infirmed. The time you spend with the senior you are matched with is set around your schedule.
