| | | | | | | | MAINTENANCE WORK AT CROWES PASTURE WALKING TRAILS ARE CURRENTLY BEING MAINTAINED The trail(s) at Crowes Pasture are walk able; however, due to the maintenance work, there is debris in the paths. The work is anticipated to be complete by December 22nd. PLEASE TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING THE TRAILS.
2010 Shellfish Licenses are now on sale. 2010 Shellfish Licenses are now on sale at the Natural Resources Office. The office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The costs for the licenses are: - Resident $ 20.00
- Over 70 Resident $ 3.00
- Non-Resident $ 65.00
- Commercial $250.00
| |  | Chapin Beach is closed to vehicle access until further notice. Regulations: CHAPIN BEACH - The vehicle access corridor shall remain free of ORV’s at all times to ensure a safe and open passage.
- Parallel parking shall be required along the vehicle corridor approximately two (2) hours prior to and two (2) hours after high tide.
- Vehicles shall not double up and/or block other vehicles from having a clear and safe passage to and from the entire length of the beach. Exception to this may be authorized on a case by case basis at Chapin “point” by a Natural Resource Officer.
- The number of vehicles allowed to remain on the beach during high tide shall range from 0 to, depending on weather and beach conditions, 70 vehicles.
- A Natural Resource Officer will make a determination utilizing weather, tides, and beach conditions as decision elements. These determinations will be posted daily.
- Vehicles shall remain seaward of the posted designated areas at all times, and during the temporary absence of a post or rope.
- All persons and beach related equipment shall stay off of all vegetation, dune faces, steeply sloped dunes, fore dunes, primary dunes, marked plover habitat, and washout areas.

Part of the renovations planned for the Sea View Park property will include Community Garden plots. These plots will be available to Dennis residents and property owners. The Department of Natural Resources is seeking residents interested in servicing on a “Community Garden Committee”. This group would meet two or three times a year and give recommendation regarding maintenance, management and long term improvements at the town’s two community garden plots. Off Road Requirements: All vehicles operating on the beach must be equipped with a jack, jack plank (12X12X5/8 inches), shovel, towline or chain, and a low pressure gauge. The power wheels of a two wheel drive vehicle will have a minimum tire width of 16 inches. All vehicles must have a valid current off road Sticker. | | | | | |

VALID SHELLFISH LICENSE REQUIRED
Budget cut backs on the state, county and town level have severely impacted the Town’s shellfish propagation program. Recently the selectmen voted to establish a “Friends of Dennis Shellfish Fund”. Over two thousand dollars in private donations have been collected so far. These funds will be used to purchase seed shellfish which will be planted in harvestable waters within the town.
