Following water quality re-testing in Bass River by DMF on December 2, 2024, the area south of the Route 28 bridge is now open to shellfishing. Recreational oyster harvest will resume as normal on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
As a reminder, oysters must be 3" in length in order to be harvested and the recreational harvest limit per week is 48 pieces. The week begins on Sunday. Oysters may only be harvested on Sundays. A valid recreational shellfish license bearing a 2024 or 2025 sticker is required.
