Police Records Fee Structure

FEE STRUCTURE FOR COPY OF POLICE RECORDS

Copy fees for copies of public records in the custody of the police department are established by state law (MGL 66-10).

Certain records may require a review by the office supervisor to determine if the record or a segregable portion thereof is exempted from disclosure under the public records law. In such case the record may not be available for immediate release.

The department generally has ten (10) days to comply with or deny a request for inspection or copy of a public record:

BY MAIL

Accidents $5.00 for up to 6 pages. Fifty cents each additional page. All other records $1.00 per page.

IN PERSON

All reports fifty cents per page.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

No charge to victim (MGL 209A-6)
