The Dennis Police have added a Comfort dog to their Peer Support Team. K-9 Winnie is a two-year-old black Labrador Retriever and a AKC certified therapy dog. Her handler is officer Kathleen Keating, a 22-year veteran of the Dennis Police.
K9 Winnie joins the DPD through a partnership with Boonefield Labradors in Rindge, New Hampshire. They have provided comfort dogs to various other towns and municipalities throughout New England. She will be used to provide comfort and support to victims, survivors, and first responders after traumatic events.
