Applying for a Permit

On January 13, 2025, our permitting system was moved to OpenGov.

How to Apply for a Fire Department Permit (Town of Dennis)

  1. Visit town.dennis.ma.us.
  2. Click Online Services, then select Online Permitting.
  3. Click to open the OpenGov Portal.
  4. Scroll down to Fire Department.
  5. Choose the type of permit you need by clicking Select.
  6. Click Apply Online.
  7. You will be prompted to log in:
    • Returning users: Enter your email address and password if you have previously registered with OpenGov (in Dennis or another town).
    • New users: Click Sign Up and:
      • Enter your email address.
      • Create a password. 
  8. Once logged in, follow the instructions on each page to complete the application and submit payment. (No fee for Open Burning Permits)
  9. You may monitor the status of the application online and see if any other action is required. Login and click My Account to see any tasks needing your attention.
  10. After creating an account, you may use the same email address and password to apply for all future permits.
  11. Approved permits may be printed from home or any computer with printer access.
