Pound Pond Restoration Project

The Town is working with consultant Tighe and Bond under a Municipal Vulnerability Program (MVP) Grant to develop design and permitting plans to restore Pound Pond at Seaview Park in Dennisport. The design will look at revitalizing the pond to improve water quality and function as well as making aesthetic improvements to make the park more inviting to visit.

A virtual public workshop was held in March, 2022 to receive public input and comment on the preliminary design. This input was used to advance the plans. A second outreach meeting was held on June 20, 2023 to provide an update on the design.

On September 15, 2025, the The Healey-Driscoll Administration announced $28.7 million in grants to help 54 Massachusetts communities prepare for increasingly extreme weather with $2,647,255 being awarded to the Town of Dennis through the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Program (MVP) Action Grant for Pound Pond.  The Town plans to complete the final designs and put the project out to bid in late 2025 with construction to begin in early 2026.
